Nel 1997, Christophe Reboul Salze, in associazione con un broker di Bordeaux, ha acquisito Château Les Grands Maréchaux a Saint Girons d'Aiguevives.

Dal punto di vista tecnico, si è avvalso dell'aiuto di Stéphane Derenoncourt, allora maestro di cantina di Pavie Macquin. Dall'acquisto di Château Les Grands Maréchaux, gli attuali proprietari sono stati benedetti con una serie di annate spettacolari, tra cui quella che ha creato questo rosso Bordolese. Ha donato all'enologo Stéphane Derenoncourt un frutto perfettamente maturo su cui lavorare la sua magia. Stéphane è una leggenda a Bordeaux, avendo lavorato in molte importanti tenute di Saint Emilion tra cui La Mondotte, Canon La Gaffelière e Pavie Macquin.

Questa è un'annata eccezionale di Les Grands Maréchaux. Questo vino si caratterizza per i suoi aromi di frutta matura e liquore di ribes nero, con note floreali (peonia e rosa antica). Filante, equilibrato e carnoso, dona ancora di più dopo 7 anni di invecchiamento, arricchendosi di deliziosi aromi di tartufo. Un ottimo vino ad un prezzo accessibile. Un raffinato petit château di un'annata celebrata, Les Grands Maréchaux è gustoso ora e si svilupperà con il tempo. Goditi questo vino con un arrosto della domenica, uno stufato di cervo o un pollame come il fagiano o la pernice.

"Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Les Grands Marechaux bursts out of the glass with notions of blueberry compote, blackberry preserves and crushed black plums plus suggestions of violets, tobacco and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has an impressive texture of very fine-grained tannins and bold freshness nicely framing the intense black fruit flavors, finishing on a perfumed note."
