IGT Tuscany
Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Massaretta, as well as percentages of Ciliegiolo, Grenaccia, Bonamico, Syrah, Merlot, Montepulciano.
Vineyard
Located in the municipality of Massa (MS) a few kilometers from the sea, the small vineyard is terraced and exposed to the south with very steep slopes (heroic viticulture).
It is worked completely by hand without the use of insecticides, herbicides or any type of fertilization.
Sandy loam soil with sandstone substrate. Guyot pruning.
Vineyard
Old plants in mixed rows containing Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot, Massaretta, Ciliegiolo, Grenaccia, Montepulciano, Malvasia Nera, Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested together, with obvious differences in maturation, they compensate each other during vinification, bringing uniqueness and typicality.
Winemaking
Spontaneous fermentation in steel without the addition of selected yeasts. No adjuvant is added aimed at correcting the organoleptic characteristics of the wine with the exception of small quantities of sulphites aimed at avoiding bacterial pollution and excessive oxidation. Contact with the skins in the absence of pumping over or punching down, followed by relative inalo-lactic fermentation. It does not undergo clarification or filtration. Manual bottling.
Wine
Very small production. It has a lively and intense red colour, fruity aromas, a dry and at the same time soft flavor on the palate. It enhances its characteristics if consumed slightly fresh.
