Collection: Champagne Le Gallais

Champagne Le Gallais is run by Charlotte Le Gallais, a fifth generation winemaker on the family estate of Clos du Château de Boursault, a few kilometers from Epernay. The clos is the former estate of Madame Veuve Clicquot, where she used to hunt and organize parties with her clients from all over the world. She offered the estate to the next generation and spent her last days there. The estate entered Charlotte's family in 1927, when her Armenian great-great-grandfather bought it. It was only then that the vines were replanted, as it was discovered that there had originally been vines on the estate before Veuve Clicquot. Today, the Clos remains a family-owned estate. Hervé Le Gallais, Charlotte's father, founded Champagne Le Gallais in 1998 and started cultivating 1Ha. He learned theory through the Champagne training program, practice with the family and some winemakers from the village helped him on his "journey". He quickly took over another 3 hectares and invested in his production facilities. His daughter Charlotte joined him in 2010 and took over in 2015. They still work together in harmony and with much humility and sensitivity to create pure Champagnes from their 5 hectares of family land.

7 plots in one clos : a rare situation Five generations later, Charlotte manages part of the estate: 7 unique plots located within the family clos, overlooking the Marne Valley. The press, cellars and winemaking buildings are also located within the clos, a few steps from the most distant plot, ensuring freshness to the fruit during pressing and processing.

A clay-limestone land: The richness of the estate lies as much in its structures as in its soil. The filtering properties of the limestone, combined with the freshness of the clay, contribute to the balance of the terroir, essential to obtaining finesse and elegance in our Champagnes.

The vineyards have been in organic conversion since 2022. Récoltant Manipulant.
