Collection: Baglio Bonsignore

Baglio Bonsignore is a young and refined Sicilian winery founded in 2016 by Debora and Luigi Bonsignore, who decided to transform their passion for nature into an authentic project deeply rooted in the land. The estate is located in the hills of the Agro di Naro, in the Agrigento hinterland, a pristine and luminous landscape that welcomes visitors with its tranquility and Mediterranean intensity.

The terroir is the true beating heart of Baglio Bonsignore. The vineyards lie at approximately 450 meters above sea level, an ideal blend of the strength of the Sicilian sun and the coolness of the hills. Bright days allow the grapes to reach full ripeness, while cooler nights, created by the temperature range, bestow the grapes with aromatic elegance and lively acidity. The result is a natural balance that translates into wines that are intense but never heavy, profound but always agile.

The soil composition adds another layer of identity. The hills are a blend of limestone and clay: the former provides verticality and minerality, the latter retains moisture and gives the fruit softness and richness. Below the surface, streams of water flow, nourishing the vines discreetly and constantly, preventing excessive water stress and helping the plant maintain a stable growth cycle even during the hottest summers. The influence of the sea, while not visually present, is felt in the moderate climate and the breezes that blow through the rows. The constant winds dry the bunches and keep the vineyards healthy, encouraging authentic and almost spontaneous organic cultivation.

In this setting, the baglio—with its rural architecture, ancient stones, and the evocative cubburo , a small traditional dry-stone building—represents the continuity between past and present. It is a place of life, work, and family, where tradition and modernity coexist naturally. It is no coincidence that the company motto, "Back to the Future," perfectly encapsulates this philosophy: a return to the essentials to build a more humane and respectful tomorrow.

The winemaking process accurately reflects all this. Nero d'Avola displays Mediterranean depth and warmth while maintaining an elegant, spicy character; Syrah expresses intense aromas and a pleasing finesse; Grillo shines with freshness, citrus, and a subtle saline note; Chardonnay is enriched with balsamic and mineral nuances. Each wine is a liquid tale of light, wind, rock, and water. The labels, with evocative names like Petricore, IO, OI, or Cubburo, are more than just titles: they are the sensorial echo of the land, its emotions, its natural rhythms.

Alongside its production, Baglio Bonsignore is also a place of hospitality and experiences. Guided tastings, picnics among the vines, countryside brunches, and tours combining food and wine with cultural visits allow visitors to authentically immerse themselves in the landscape. The proximity to the baroque village of Naro adds charm and depth, transforming a visit into a complete journey through wine, history, and beauty.

Baglio Bonsignore is more than just a winery: it's a life project, a place where time expands, where wine becomes an expression of a complex and luminous territory, and where nature, family, and culture intertwine to create a profoundly Sicilian experience.
