Collection: Giovanni Manzone

In the heart of the Langhe, in Monforte d’Alba, Azienda Agricola Manzone Giovanni stands as a genuine expression of tradition, land, and passion. Founded in 1925 with the purchase of the historic “Ciabot del Preve” in the Castelletto area, the winery is now run by the third generation of the Manzone family, who continue to cultivate their vineyards with the same artisanal spirit — combining respect for tradition with a sustainable approach to viticulture.

The estate’s vineyards cover about seven hectares, located in some of the most renowned crus of Monforte d’Alba: Gramolere, Castelletto, and Bricat. These steep hillsides, sitting at over 400 meters above sea level and composed of calcareous-clay soils, offer ideal conditions for producing wines of great depth, structure, and elegance.

Manzone follows sustainable farming methods: natural grassing between rows, organic fertilization, no herbicides, and minimal chemical intervention. In the cellar, the philosophy remains minimalist — spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts, long macerations, aging in large Slavonian oak barrels or tonneaux, and no fining or filtration. Everything is designed to preserve the character of the grape and the uniqueness of each vineyard.

The estate’s flagship wines include Barolo Gramolere, elegant and profound, and Barolo Bricat, from the upper part of the Gramolere cru, made from old vines and offering great complexity. Also noteworthy are Barolo Castelletto, the Langhe Nebbiolo “Il Crutin”, the vibrant Barbera d’Alba Superiore “La Marchesa”, the juicy Dolcetto “Le Ciliegie”, and the rare Rossese Bianco — a nearly forgotten native variety that the Manzone family has helped to preserve.

Manzone’s wines do not chase trends. They speak of time, land, and patience — with authenticity, character, and a deep connection to one of the most storied terroirs in Italy.
