Barolo Gramolere Riserva 2017
DOCG
75cl
The Barolo Gramolere Riserva DOCG by Manzone is an elegant and deep red wine , with great structure, obtained from Nebbiolo grapes grown and vinified by the Manzone Giovanni farm, in the Langhe .
The grapes come from a single vineyard, in the MGA of Gramolere , in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba .
The vineyard is made up of old vines over 50 years old .
The exposure is south-southwest and the soil is sandy limestone and rich in stones and fossils.
The steep slope of the hill makes manual work essential, and so the grapes are harvested by hand in mid- to late October to ensure the noble ripening of the skins and seeds.
Thanks to spontaneous fermentations and slow macerations lasting 30/40 days, the polyphenolic extraction does not rush, which occurs as delicately as possible, through the gentle spraying of the cap.
After 5 years of aging in barrels and a few months of rest in steel tanks, the wine is bottled during the waning moon.
Barolo Riserva Gramolere is produced only in particularly prestigious years and is released on the market approximately 7 years after the harvest with a small production of a few thousand bottles.
A precious gem.

📝 Description
The Barolo Riserva "Gramolere" is produced only in vintages where the balance between strength, elegance, and grape ripeness reaches an exceptional level. The 2017 harvest, characterized by low yields and extreme weather conditions, yielded an intense, concentrated Nebbiolo perfectly structured for long aging.
This Riserva comes from a selection of the oldest vines in the Gramolere parcel, one of Monforte d'Alba's historic crus, with a southwest exposure and deep limestone-clay soils. After aging for over five years, the wine is complex, robust, and noble.
On the nose, notes of cherries in alcohol, sweet spices, leather, undergrowth, and tobacco immediately emerge. On the palate, it is broad and deep, with firm yet fine tannins, great balance, and a lingering finish. It's a meditation wine, a collector's item, but also capable of stirring emotions even today.
