Barolo Bricat 2021
DOCG
75cl
An enveloping and complex red wine of great elegance, Barolo Bricat is obtained from Nebbiolo grapes grown and vinified by Manzone Giovanni , in the Langhe .
The grapes come from a single vineyard, in the Gramolere Additional Geographical Indication (MGA ) in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba . The original core is made up of vines over 50 years old, and a small portion of these Nebbiolos are of the ancient Rosé subvariety , giving the Barolo Bricat DOCG its finesse and class.
The exposure is southwest and the sandy limestone soil , with layers of red clay, gives a particular character to the production of these vines. The extreme slope of the hill makes manual work indispensable.
In fact, the grapes are harvested by hand in mid/late October to ensure a noble ripeness of the skins and seeds. They then undergo spontaneous fermentation and slow maceration for 30/40 days that do not rush the polyphenolic extraction, allowing it to take place as delicately as possible, thanks to the gentle spraying of the cap.
After approximately 3 years of aging in barrels and a few months of rest in concrete tanks, the wine is bottled during the waning moon.
The vineyard and the Ciabot Bricat were purchased by the Manzone Giovanni Agricultural Company in 1989 and the first vintage produced was 1994 .
Barolo Bricat is released on the market approximately 5 years after the harvest with a production limited to a few thousand bottles.

📝 Description
The Barolo "Bricat" represents one of the most intimate and rare expressions of Giovanni Manzone's production. It is a microselection of old vines located in the highest part of the Gramolere cru: a suitable, steep, and well-ventilated parcel, which produces grapes of extraordinary concentration and finesse.
2021 offers an elegant and profound Bricat. The nose is delicate yet complex, with hints of fresh red fruits, wild rose, undergrowth, and sweet spices. On the palate, it strikes with its balance between structure and grace: the tannins are present yet silky, the texture is enveloping, the finish is long and savory, and it has an energy that suggests a great future in the bottle.
This is a Barolo that doesn't raise its voice, but rather captivates with precision, depth, and purity. Produced in extremely limited quantities.
