Palazzo della Torre 2022 is one of the most iconic wines from the Allegrini winery, an emblem of contemporary Valpolicella. It comes from the vineyards surrounding the ancient Villa della Torre, in the heart of Fumane, and is the result of a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
The cuvée is composed primarily of Corvina Veronese , Corvinone , and Rondinella grapes, with a small portion subjected to appassimento (drying). Approximately 70% is vinified fresh immediately after harvest, while the remaining 30% undergoes a light appassimento (drying) process, giving the wine warmth, depth, and more intense fruity notes. After fermentation, the wine ages for 15 months in French oak barriques, completing its maturation with a few months in the bottle.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color , with purple highlights that enhance its youth. The aroma is broad and enveloping, dominated by ripe cherry, plum, and small red fruits , accompanied by hints of sweet spices, vanilla, chocolate, and a lightly toasted touch. On the palate, it is soft and velvety , with fine tannins, a pleasant freshness, and a long finish, in which the fruity and balsamic notes return.
The 2022 vintage, characterized by a hot, dry summer followed by providential rains in August, yielded balanced and concentrated wines with great aromatic expression. The vineyards' calcareous and clayey soil, combined with their sunny exposure, gives the wine structure and complexity.
The 2022 Palazzo della Torre is a versatile and refined red, perfect for pairing with meat dishes, baked pasta, savory risottos, game, or aged cheeses. Thanks to its smoothness and harmonious profile, it's also ideal for those looking to explore Valpolicella wines with a charming yet approachable bottle.
A modern classic, capable of expressing the soul of Allegrini and the magic of its territory, every time it is poured into the glass.
