Powerful and well concentrated, with a final acidity that gives it a superb balance.
Château Loupiac-Gaudiet is located in Loupiac, in the appellation of the same name in Bordeaux. In 1919, the château was sold to the Ducau family. Thus began the family history with Loupiac-Gaudiet, a meeting punctuated by 6 successive generations. It was in 1986 that Marc Ducau asked his nephew, Daniel Sanfourche, to join him in this adventure. Today, the whole family works side by side on the property: Daniel the father, Marie-Laurence the mother and Nicolas the son. The 30-hectare vineyard is located around the château and benefits from a southern exposure. The very old vines are planted on the hills overlooking the Garonne, on clay-limestone terroir. The conversion to organic farming began in 2021.
Château Loupiac-Gaudiet is a blend of Sémillon (95%) and Sauvignon Blanc (5%). The grapes are subjected to botrytization, which concentrates the sugar inside the berries, revealing the aromatic power of the fruit.
Review (2018) "Six successive generations of Château de Loupiac have continued to be a history of passion. A heritage that is inherited from the Ducau family, with the conviction to maintain this qualitative symbiosis between the terroir, the cépage and the human being. It evokes a touch of citrus fruit. This bouquet stands out for its charnel character, accentuated by an intense and pure mandarin liqueur. - Gold, ELLE at Table
"This rich, apricot and mango-flavored wine has sweetness and ripe botrytis that is developing well. The generous texture hints that it has a future as a ripe, ripe and opulent wine. Drink from 2021. " — Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
