History and character

Château Pavie is one of Saint-Émilion's great estates and has been classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé A since 2012. It has been run by Gérard Perse since 1998.

Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Dordogne, is one of Bordeaux's most famous appellations. Its medieval village and vineyards are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its wines are made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The Saint-Émilion classification, established in 1955 and periodically reviewed, distinguishes Premier Grand Cru Classé and Grand Cru Classé. Level A is the highest in the Saint-Émilion classification.
