Atalaya - Atalaya Tierra 2023

Alaya Tierra from Bodegas Atalaya represents the winery's most iconic and prestigious label, the ultimate expression of Garnacha Tintorera in the Almansa appellation. An intense and profound wine, designed for those seeking structure, concentration, and great personality.

Made from 100% Garnacha Tintorera grapes from old vines, over 40–50 years old, located at altitudes around 1,000 meters above sea level, it grows on poor calcareous and sandy soils. The extreme conditions and low yields ensure extraordinary aromatic concentration and grape quality.

Vinification involves controlled fermentation and subsequent malolactic fermentation in barriques, followed by aging for about 15 months in French and American oak barrels, which confers complexity, structure, and evolutionary capacity.

Visually, it presents a very intense and deep, almost impenetrable color. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet of ripe black fruit, spices, cocoa, and mineral notes, with elegant toasted nuances. On the palate, it is powerful, dense, and enveloping, with velvety tannins and a long finish, characterized by a surprising balance between strength and softness.

Perfect with red meats, game, roasts, and aged cheeses, it is also an ideal wine for meditation, thanks to its structure and depth.
