Bodegas Ateca - Atteca Old Vines Garnacha 2022

The Atteca Old Vines Garnacha from Bodegas Ateca is the most authentic expression of Aragonese Garnacha. From historic vineyards over 80 years old, located at high altitudes between 700 and 900 meters above sea level in the Calatayud denomination, this wine combines aromatic concentration, structure, and elegance.

It presents an intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose releases complex aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry, and blackberry, with elegant spicy notes and light mineral nuances, typical of the arid, slate soils of high-altitude vineyards. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and harmonious, with velvety tannins and a long, enveloping finish.

The winemaking is careful and respectful of the fruit: manual harvesting, controlled fermentation, and aging in selected oak barrels, which enhances its depth and complexity without ever masking the identity of the grape variety.

Perfect with red meats, game, roasts, and aged cheeses, it is also a meditation wine, to be savored slowly to appreciate all its nuances.
