Amarone della Valpolicella Classico "Vigneto Alto" 2012

DOCG

75cl

alc. 16.5%

The 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella "Vigneto Alto" represents the pinnacle of Tommaso Bussola's production and a true tribute to the Valpolicella Classica region. This wine comes from a single historic vineyard on the hills of Negrar, where soils rich in basalt and limestone and the vines' optimal exposure give the grapes extraordinary concentration and unmistakable character.

The grapes, primarily Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella , are hand-selected and left to dry for months in drying rooms according to Amarone tradition, concentrating sugars and natural aromas and developing extraordinary complexity. Slow fermentation and extended aging in large oak barrels and tonneaux allow the wine to achieve balance, depth, and structure without compromising its elegance.

In the glass, the 2012 "Vigneto Alto" displays an intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The aromatic profile is broad and enveloping, with notes of cherries in brandy, ripe plums, dried figs, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco, and noble spices. On the palate, it reveals a powerful yet harmonious structure, soft and velvety tannins, and a long, persistent finish, capable of accompanying the sip with refinement and complexity.

The 2012 vintage has produced an elegant, mature, and enveloping Amarone, perfect for enjoying today but with great potential for many years to come. It pairs excellently with braised meats, game, rich red meats, and aged cheeses, but it also makes a wonderful meditation wine, to be savored slowly to appreciate its every nuance.

The 2012 "Vigneto Alto" is the expression of careful, artisanal viticulture that respects the territory: an Amarone that expresses Tommaso Bussola's passion and the authentic soul of Valpolicella Classica.

After approximately 20 days, it is racked and transferred to wood vats where it completes fermentation and maturation.
