Tommaso Bussola

Valpolicella Classico DOC

75cl

alc. 12.5%

The 2023 Valpolicella Classico comes from the Tommaso Bussola vineyards, located on the Valpolicella Classica hills in Negrar (VR). Here, the soils, rich in basalt, limestone, and clay, combined with an altitude ranging from 300 to 470 meters above sea level, give the wines an elegant structure and a strong territorial identity.

For this vintage, the grape selection focused on native vines typical of the area: Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, grown with great care and limited yields to maximize the fruit and the expressiveness of the terroir.

In the cellar, the winemaking process is conducted with a commitment to preserving the freshness and aromatic definition typical of younger vintages, without sacrificing the depth and balance that distinguish the winery. The result is a wine with a luminous ruby red color, enriched with light garnet highlights. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, plum), hints of sweet spice, and a light balsamic note that enhances its complexity. On the palate, it is dynamic, medium-full bodied, with well-integrated tannins, good freshness, and a lingering finish that invites another sip.

The 2023 vintage in Valpolicella was characterized by climatic conditions that—despite presenting some challenges—allowed the grapes to ripen in a balanced manner, ensuring good natural acidity and harmonious maturation, elements that are reflected in this wine.

Why choose this wine

  • For those seeking an authentic expression of Valpolicella Classica: this wine represents a perfect balance between terroir, native varieties, and artisanal craftsmanship.

  • For more immediate consumption: while retaining complexity and structure, the 2023 vintage is suitable for enjoying in the short to medium term, thanks to its freshness and agility.

  • Excellent with Italian dishes that showcase moderate reds: first courses with red sauces, tasty white meats, medium-aged cheeses.
