Les Riceys – Côte des Bar
A Champagne with character, generous and refined.
Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the historic Les Riceys vineyards, this Blanc de Noirs from Gallimard Père et Fils is a highly expressive cuvée. On the nose, notes of ripe fruit, quince, almond, and brioche stand out, while on the palate it is full-bodied, harmonious, and has a lovely mineral freshness. The perlage is fine and persistent, the result of at least 24 months of aging on the lees.
Ideal for:
- Elegant aperitifs
- Tasty fish and shellfish dishes
- Quality cured meats and white meats
Why choose it:
✔️ Authenticity of the Les Riceys terroir
✔️ Excellent value for money
✔️ Gastronomic champagne, versatile at the table
🍇 Winemaking
Gallimard's Cuvée de Réserve Blanc de Noirs is made from 100% Pinot Noir, vinified in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to preserve its aromatic freshness. After blending wines from different vintages, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle using the traditional method, aging on the lees for at least 24 months. The Brut dosage enhances the richness and balance of the Pinot Noir, maintaining elegance and drinkability.
🍇 The History of the Maison Gallimard Père et Fils
Founded in 1930 in Les Riceys, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, Maison Gallimard Père et Fils is today led by the sixth generation of the Gallimard family, guardians of a winemaking tradition spanning almost a century.
It all began with Jules Gallimard, who recognized the unique potential of the Les Riceys terroir, the only village in Champagne with three AOCs: Champagne, Coteaux Champenois, and Rosé des Riceys. Since then, the family has combined artisanal savoir-faire and innovation, maintaining complete control over the supply chain: from the vineyard to the winemaking process.
Today, Didier and Arnaud Gallimard continue this legacy with passion and expertise, cultivating approximately 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Pinot Noir, the iconic grape of the Côte des Bar. Their approach is sustainable and environmentally friendly, with particular attention to the authentic expression of the terroir.
Gallimard cuvées reflect meticulous work, a profound knowledge of Pinot Noir, and a constant pursuit of quality, with a stylistic imprint that prioritizes intensity, freshness, and balance.
🏡 Why choose Gallimard:
- Family-run business with over 90 years of history
- Pinot Noir and Blanc de Noirs specialists
- Artisanal production and direct control over every phase
- Unique terroir: Les Riceys, in the heart of the Côte des Bar
