Nicolas Maillart's Platine 1er Cru is a Champagne that combines freshness, finesse, and elegance, perfectly embodying the savoir-faire of a historic family-run house in the Montagne de Reims. Made exclusively from Premier Cru vineyards , this champagne is born from a balanced blend dominated by Pinot Noir , with a touch of Chardonnay and occasionally a touch of Meunier , varieties that contribute to creating a harmonious and brilliant cuvée.
The grapes come from parcels cultivated with great attention to sustainability, on chalky soils that give the wine the area's typical minerality. The vinification is precise and delicate, while the extended aging on the lees gives the Platine structure, creaminess, and an extraordinarily fine perlage.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow color and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it offers notes of white flowers, citrus, green apple, and a subtle hint of bread crust. On the palate, it is fresh and linear, with an impeccable balance of mineral tension, smoothness, and aromatic precision. The finish is clean, elegant, and extremely persistent.
A versatile Champagne, perfect as an aperitif but also capable of accompanying fish dishes, carpaccio, shellfish and gourmet cuisine.
