History and character
Château Canon is a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, owned by the Wertheimer family (Chanel) since 1996.
Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Dordogne, is one of the most famous appellations in Bordeaux. Its medieval village and vineyards are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the wines are made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The Saint-Émilion classification, established in 1955 and periodically reviewed, distinguishes Premier Grand Cru Classé and Grand Cru Classé. Level B is the second in the Saint-Émilion classification.
