History and character
Château Pavie is one of the great estates of Saint-Émilion and has been classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé A since 2012. It has been run by Gérard Perse since 1998.
Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Dordogne, is one of Bordeaux's most famous appellations. Its medieval village and vineyards are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its wines are made primarily from Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The Saint-Émilion classification, established in 1955 and periodically reviewed, distinguishes between Premier Grand Cru Classé and Grand Cru Classé. Level B is the second level of the Saint-Émilion classification.
