LOCATION: The vines grow on well-exposed terraced pebble slopes (the former bed of the Rhône River). The sun's heat stored by the pebbles during the day is released back to the earth and the grapes at night. The yield is deliberately limited to less than 30 hl/hectare.
The manual harvest is completely destemmed, maceration lasts from 20 to 28 days, then the wine is aged for at least one year in barrels.
CHARACTERISTICS: This wine is born from a rigorous selection of the best grapes. Excellent work on old vines, optimally cultivated, and production with low yields contribute to the development of a more concentrated wine, better suited for aging in barrels (ten months to one year). A liquorice-flavored wine on the palate, full-bodied enough to accompany any game meat. Its excellent structure makes it a long-keeping wine.
