According to the wishes of the owner of Rocca di Montegrossi Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi, the Geremiawants to express thecharacter of theMonti in Chianti terroir withBordeaux vines, Merlot (70%) andCabernet Sauvignon (30%).Matured exclusively inmedium toasted Allier barriquesfor a periodof approximately 24 months, afterbottling and withoutfiltration it is left torefine for 18 months.
It is a powerful andintense wine and at the sametime elegant andbalanced which enhances thecharacteristics of its territory.It has anintense ruby red color, purpleon the edge, with complex aromasreminiscent ofblack cherries, currants and othersmall berriescombined with notes of vanilla, liquorice andchocolate.
Wine of greatstructure and complexity,soft and velvety thanksto the richness and perfectmaturation of the tannins.It is a long-lived red to beopened even after 18-20years of aging. Theaverage annual production isaround 15,000 bottles .
Maturation 26 months in Allier barriques (60%) and Allier oak tonneaux (40%): 10% of 1st pass, 30% of 2nd pass, 50% of 3rd pass and 10% of 4th pass.
