Jean-Paul Dubost owns 8 hectares of Gamay planted in the yellow granite and blue clay of his native village of Lantignié, on the hills immediately west of Regnié and Morgon. His Beaujolais-Lantignié Rouge, with its dark and juicy red fruits and ample spice, offers much of the complexity of a Beaujolais cru in a much more modestly priced package. Jean-Paul employs a two-week semi-carbonic whole-cluster maceration in stainless steel, and the wine is bottled with a minimum essential sulfur dioxide after spending most of the year in the tank.
It reveals beautiful aromas of red fruits on the nose accompanied by light touches of wild flowers. On the palate the attack is delicious, defined by red fruits such as cherry and strawberry. There is a good balance between the meaty texture and the freshness of this wine , which makes it delicate and drinkable.

"Earth and wild berries on the nose with a touch of peppercorns. Medium body with fine tannins. Round and creamy with a succulent character. Well-balanced with a flavorful finish. Drink now."
