APPELLATION: The Meursault appellation, located 8km from Beaune, has soil composed mainly of hard Comblanchien limestone and sinks into the depths at Nuits-Saint-Georges and reappears here rather than heading south. We are abandoning reds in favor of hilly white wine. The vineyard is made up of 96% white wines and 4% red wines. The best soils are found approximately at 260 meters above sea level with an oblique exposure from east to south. Occasional shades of magnesian limestone are present. The vineyard is exceptional for its calcareous marl.
The wines are divided between the ancient Callovian limestones and the Aargau marl rocks.
