Made up of approximately 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo and Colorino , Chianti Classico Rocca di Montegrossi represents the company's flagship wine and is produced every year.
Its maturation takes place largely in Allier oak barrels and vats for a period of between 12 and 14 months. Bottled without filtration, it is aged in the bottle for another 6 months before being placed on the market. In the glass it presents a bright ruby red, with evident purple reflections and fruity aromas, especially of small berries and black cherries.
Harmonious, with good structure, savory and slightly tannic, it is a wine that can easily mature for a period varying from 7 to 10 years. Annual production is approximately6,000bottles .
Maturation 11 months in vitrified concrete tanks and in Allier oak vats from 54 to 56 hl.
