Composed of about 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo and Colorino , the Chianti Classico Rocca di Montegrossi is the flagship wine of the company and is produced every year.
Its maturation takes place largely in Allier oak barrels and vats for a period between 12 and 14 months. Bottled without filtration, it is aged in the bottle for another 6 months before being placed on the market. In the glass it has a bright ruby red, with clear violet reflections and fruity aromas, especially of small berries and black cherry.
Harmonious, with a good structure, sapid and slightly tannic, it is a wine that can easily mature for a period ranging from 7 to 10 years. The annual production is around6,000bottles .
Maturation 11 months in vitrified cement tanks and Allier oak vats from 54 to 56 Hl.
