The flagship wine of the Poggio al Tufo project, it is the first wine produced by the Tommasi family in the Maremma region of Tuscany. A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon with refined and warm characteristics, it captivates with its vivacity and elegance.
Rompicollo is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from the volcanic tuff soils of the Maremma countryside around the ancient village of Pitigliano.
Sensory description
Intense and vibrant ruby red, the nose presents an elegant and varied bouquet of ripe red berries such as blackberries and raspberries, dried balsamic herbs, and delicate sweet spices. The palate is full, rounded, and enveloping, with velvety tannins. Full-bodied, it displays excellent smoothness on the palate.
Pairings
Ideal with risottos and structured first courses, white meats, cured meats and fresh and medium-aged cheeses.
Origin
The Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are selected exclusively from the vineyard of the same name on the Pitigliano estate. The exposure is southwest and the soil is rich in tuff. The vines are Guyot-trained with an average density of 6,500 vines per hectare.

Vinification and Aging
Temperature-controlled fermentation for 10 days in steel tanks. Aged for 12 months in 65-hl Slavonian oak barrels.
