Origin: Northern slopes of Etna, Passopisciaro, Contrada Porcaria – Feudo di Mezzo
Vineyard: Altitude of 750 meters a.s.l., bush-trained on espalier
Soil: Volcanic, stony
Climate: High hillside with strong temperature fluctuations between day and night
Harvest: Second decade of October, manual in crates
Vinification: Traditional in open vats, with a percentage of whole clusters; Manual punch-downs for 10/12 days; racking and gentle pressing
Maturation: In used barriques and stainless steel
Tasting: Color: Radiant, vivid ruby red, with slight purplish hues
Aroma: Intense, rich and complex, with notes of juicy berries, cherries and blood oranges, followed by spicy and aromatic herb notes
Taste: Fresh, ample and balanced, with juicy and soft tannins, of good structure, with a pleasant and persistentfinish
Aging: 5-10 years
