Collection: Roberto Mazzi

In the heart of Valpolicella Classica , among the rolling hills of San Peretto di Negrar , the Mazzi family cultivates the vine with the same dedication and respect that has been handed down for generations.
Founded in the 1960s, the Roberto Mazzi e Figli winery represents one of the most authentic voices in the Verona area, faithful interpreters of a simple, deep-rooted, and sincere winemaking art.

A legacy of balance and measure

From the very beginning, Roberto Mazzi has chosen to produce wines that express the identity of the place, prioritizing quality and elegance over power. His philosophy is based on one essential principle: to accompany the vine and the wine on their natural journey, without forcing them.
In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations and aging in large wooden barrels preserve the integrity of the fruit, while time becomes the most precious tool for revealing its soul.

The vineyards and the terroir

The essence of Mazzi wines is born in the historic crus of Valpolicella ClassicaCalcarole, Castel, Poiega, Sanperetto and Villa — small plots of extraordinary harmony, which extend between 200 and 350 metres above sea level on the hills surrounding Negrar.

Limestone soils, light and wind

The soil is predominantly calcareous and pebbly , low in clay and exceptionally well-drained. This mineral composition gives the wines a taut and refined freshness , a savory edge that balances the grapes' natural softness.
Each cru has a distinct personality:

  • Le Calcarole produces intense and complex wines, born from white, arid soils, where the roots sink into the rocks.

  • Castel offers balance and depth, thanks to a hill rich in limestone that gives structured but always elegant wines.

  • Poiega and Sanperetto are distinguished by their aromatic finesse and silkiness, the result of ventilated exposure and gradual maturation.

The altitude and conformation of the hills create an ideal microclimate , with strong temperature variations and a constant flow of breeze that keeps the grapes healthy and promotes slow and balanced ripening.

A work of respect and continuity

In the vineyard, management is focused on sustainability and respect for the plant. The Mazzi family adopts integrated pest management practices, soil conservation, and manual pruning to maintain plant health.
Every detail is personally supervised, because each bunch of grapes tells a story of the land that gave birth to it.

The soul of Mazzi wines

From the Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara grapes come the symbolic wines of Valpolicella — Amarone, Recioto, Valpolicella Classico Superiore and Ripasso — which in Mazzi's hand find a distinct voice: more than power, they speak of harmony and measure .
They are wines of light and stone, of calm elegance, in which tradition blends with contemporary sensibility.

Today, together with his children, Roberto Mazzi continues to cultivate this heritage of values and vineyards, with the same care and the same patient gaze of someone who knows that each vintage is a new page, but always written in the same language: that of authentic Valpolicella .
